The Clallam / Jefferson Perinatal Mental Health Task Force seeks to explore, support, and expand support for families in the perinatal period. Medical providers, social service agencies, doulas, behavioral health providers, SUD providers and community members meet a minimum of 4x per year and work toward supporting the Community Connection Baby Shower, training events and launching and growing local support groups.

First Step Family Support Center aims to increase the number of and types of support available to families in the perinatal period on the North Olympic Peninsula. We do this through our concrete support group, Mothering Together, Entre Mamas and more which provide weekly support to mothers in the perinatal period and through our task force work.

Our agency began in 1972 and offers services that span Clallam and Jefferson counties. We focus our suite of programs on families with children 0-6 and have a deep belief in the importance of infant and early childhood mental health – which is directly related to the mental health and well-being of their caregivers. This program is offered in partnership with Perinatal Support Washington and provides annual training and free CEU’s to professionals serving families in the perinatal period
